Has your child been having difficulties learning to read and been diagnosed with dyslexia? It is not a sign of poor intelligence or laziness. It is not the result of impaired vision. Children with dyslexia simply have a neurological disorder that causes their brains to process and interpret information differently. Much of what happens in a classroom is based on reading and writing. It is important to identify dyslexia as early as possible. Using alternate learning methods, children with dyslexia can achieve success. The National Institute of Child and Human Development states that as many as 15% of Americans have major difficulties with reading. However, public and private schools don’t have reading teachers with a certification in Dyslexia Based Teaching Programs.

As a parent it is heartbreaking to watch your child struggle academically. Your child will fall only further behind in all subjects because it involves reading and understanding what must be read.

A week or two of instruction to address your child’s individual needs is not enough.  My specialized instruction can be scheduled for after school and /or during vacation periods in order to benefit your child by improving his/her reading abilities.
